[Album Spotlight #1] Vylter- When It's Cold Enough To See The Melody
Vylter has just recently released a 4 track project titled "When It's Cold
Enough To See The Melody" via vacuum noise records and it's simply
amazing.
The first track to kick off the album is titled "de tu Al ma ma" the ambiance
hits you right away, breathtaking ambient pads that could melt even the
darkest of hearts. Throughout the experience, you can faintly hear a vocal
sample that is delayed and is heavy reverbed to give it a psychedelic
sound.
"Untransliterated" is one of the more drone style tracks and one of my
favorites from the album. Beautiful layers of sounds and immersing soundscapes
that will leave you in a trance for hours. This is defiantly a track to listen
to while meditating or sleeping
"nay to you I say" is very upbeat, starting with an acoustic guitar piece
accompanied by a vocal chop that is calming and quite catchy but as the track
progress the vocals get more aggressive and the tempo begins to get faster.
One of the tags on the Bandcamp description is "freak folk" which I believe is
the best way to describe "nay to you I say"
"h e n 2 h e n" is the closing track of the album and the longest track
from this project as well, it begins with a field sample. In the sample,
you can hear the sounds of a city, as it slowly progresses a eerie guitar
sample is introduced. Then the vocals begin, these vocals are definitely in
the style of vaporware, they are slowed down just like with any
vaporwave track but Vytyler adds her special touch to it.
