[Artist Spotlight #2] Hemwick

Hemwick is a noise artist from Pennsylvania whose music evokes emotions you may have long buried. But he doesn't simply create noise—he paints vivid sonic landscapes, with each track telling its own story and drawing the listener into a distinct emotional world.

His debut project, Communion, released in 2019, takes listeners on an eerie journey through harsh walls of noise intertwined with industrial textures. It's an uncompromising introduction to his sound, setting the stage for an artist unafraid to explore discomfort and atmosphere.

More recent releases, such as You'll Stay in Hell Until You Stop Pretending You Have a Human Body, showcase a more refined and mature approach while retaining the signature sonic identity that makes Hemwick instantly recognizable. His compositions feel more deliberate, yet they lose none of their intensity.

Part of what makes Hemwick's music so compelling is his creative use of equipment. He experiments with a wide range of synthesizers, routing them through various effects to sculpt immersive, textured soundscapes that feel both overwhelming and deeply emotional.

The sky's the limit for Hemwick. I'm excited to see where his creativity takes him next.

Until next time, gazers...
